COEA Library provide a blend of online, zero-contact and in-person services, designed to give you the access you need to resources and support while keeping you and library staff safe.
We continue to increase the availability of online resources and services to complement access to the physical collections. Our vast library of electronic resources, including ebooks, ejournals, and databases are available from any location worldwide, with the exception of titles received through electronic legal deposit, for current students and staff of the College of Education Akwanga.
You can also remotely access expert help from libraries staff to help you find and use the resources that are important to your work.
All you need to enter the libraries online are your computer or mobile device, your password and an internet connection. Simply log in with your user id and password when prompted - this may be referred to as an Institutional Login.
Borrowing privileges for circulating books and other library resources applies to duly registered library users ONLY. While circulating books are available for open shelf retrievals, books in closed access areas are available for users who wishes to use such materials within the library. There are two categories of loan: short-term loan and long-term loan.
All circulating resources are available for long term loan.
Interlibrary loan is available for both print and electronic materials.
Resources available for short-term loan include: Reserved Book Room collection, Journals and other Periodicals, Reference Materials, Audio-Visual Collection, Theses and Dissertations, Archival and Special Collections, Government Publications and Newspapers, Past Examination Question Papers, and Laptop.

The library offers help through the Chat-a-Librarian service where patrons have access to librarians' help real time through a virtual chat. The hours for the Chat-a-Librarian service is Monday - Friday (except on holidays): 9am - 4pm. The turnaround time for response to any enquiry is 4 hours.
Request library materials - from books (up to 20%), periodicals to special collections - and we will digitize and send by email.
Scans are delivered within five (5) working days.

The College Library has a well-established bindery that offers high standard binding services to staff, students, academic departments and private clients.
Students and staff of the College of Education, Akwanga can gain access with the college identification cards. However, the ID card does not serve as borrower's card. Non-members of the college can gain access on presentation of a letter of introduction and valid identification card from their institution or employer. An admittance card would be issued following registration and payment of a required fee at the Main Library Circulation Desk.
Use the Traditional Card catalogue or the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). Each contains materials held by the Library. If you cannot find what you need in the catalogue, please seek assistance at the Circulation Desk.
You may seek assistance of the Reference Librarian if the book you need is unavailable in the library. The library may request to borrow a copy of the item from another library via its Inter-Library Loan Service or purchase it.
The College of Education, Akwanga,is a tertiary institution located in Akwanga town in Akwanga Local Government Area in Nasarawa State,in central Nigeria.
The institution was established as the Advanced Teachers College Akwanga(ATCA) in September 1976, by Plateau State edict No.5 in 1978.
